Penny Holt, new Foods Services Director for CCPS, shares her passion for clean eating, delicious food and keeping the customers happy.

Since beginning her new job in November, Ms. Holt has made it top priority to visit schools and meet as many staff members as she can across the district.

Ms. Holt replaces long-time director Sandra McIntosh who retired at the end of October. Ms. Holt has a degree in food service management and dietetics and holds more than 29 years of experience in her role as a Foods Services Director. Previously, she worked for Paducah Independent and Graves County schools.

It’s my goal to continue improving upon the nutritional quality of meals served to our students each day,” says Ms. Holt. She adds that it’s important to keep the customers happy, and by customers she refers to students who choose to eat breakfast and lunch provided by the school.

Ms. Holt’s idea of “clean” eating comes from using limited to zero preservatives and additives in foods. “A big misconception of eating clean often means that foods won’t be as delicious,” she says. Meals appearing on the upcoming school menus will reflect that healthy foods can be every bit delicious.
