Connections FRC
Crofton Elementary Connections Family Resource Center
My name is Laurel Pemberton and I am the Family Resource Center Coordinator at Crofton Elementary. Our center is here to assist students and families in any way we can. The FRC was established as part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act and was designed to promote the flow of resources and support for families. The intent of the center is to enhance student abilities to succeed in school by assisting children, youth and families in meeting some of their basic needs.
Each FRC has an Advisory Council which is made up of parents, community leaders and school staff. They provide great insight and input into the center's operation.
We see many positive outcomes from the FRC including:
- improved school attendance
- increased parental involvement
- increased community collaboration
